- In the Games or application menu on your phone, find and launch SimCity Societies.
- You will be given the choice to play with or without sound, toggle to select "yes" or "no."
- The EA and SimCity Societies splash screens appear, followed by the SimCity Societies intro.
- After the SimCity Societies intro, the main menu is displayed. Use the up and down arrows of the D-Pad to navigate through the menu. Different items are available:
- Play - Access Scenarios and "Free Play" mode.
- Options - Open the Options menu. Use the D-Pad, or "2" or "8" to cursor up and down through the list. Highlight one of the following options and press right softkey "Select" or OK on the D-Pad to change its value:
- Sound - Turn in-game sound on/off.
- Vibration - Turn vibration sound on/off.
- Tutorial Screen - Turn the Tutorial screen on/off.
- Reset Game - Reset game statistics and progression.

- Exit - Exit Sims City Societies.
- Select "Play".
- In the play menu, select one of the scenarios or the "Free Pay" mode. The My First City scenario must be played through to unlock the other scenarios and the" Free Play" mode.

- Once the game loads, the scenario or the "Free Play" starts. If you select an already started scenario it will be resumed.
Game Controls
Use the D-pad to navigate the city grid and the mini-map grid.
On city grid, use fire key "OK" or the right soft key "Build" to summon the construction wheel.
In the construction wheel, use the D-pad and the fire key "OK" to access the selection of buildings cards, access the mini map or skip to next month.
Select a building on the grid with the right soft key "Select" or the fire key "OK" and access the building wheel.
In the building wheel, use the D-pad and the fire key "OK" to access the buildings cards, access the mini map, demolish the building, recycle the building or skip to next month.
Press "1" to expand or minimize the Sims metrics tab.
Press "2" to expand or minimize the City metrics tab.
Press "3" to expand or minimize the Society meter tab.
Press the * key to open the objectives reminder.
In "end of month" management phase, use left / right soft keys or the fire key "OK" to go back and forth in the steps.
Use the left soft key "Back" to go back in menus or, while on the city grid, access the pause menu.
Happier Sims are more efficient workers and will raise more money for the city.
Q: What is the basic goal of the game?
A: You are the Mayor and you want your citizens to be happy working Sims. To do so, you need to build homes, workplaces and venues. Your city need to be well balanced with enough workplaces so your Sims have work and enough Venues so your Sims can relax after an hard day at work. Also at each month you will have to listen to the concerns of your Sims or take action on opportunities your city might have.
Q: How do I make money?
A: Your main source of incomes will be from the working Sims, so be sure to build enough workplaces. Also small but steady amount of money will come from taxes on homes, workplaces and venues.
Q: I built homes and workplaces, why my Sims are not working?
A: Your Sims might be unhappy, if so they won't go to work. You need to build more Venues.
Q: The appearance of my city is changing, what is happening?
A: In SimCity Societies your city will evolve in accordance to your management style. You might follow the liberal path or the Authoritarian path. This will depend on the actions you take and the building you choose.
Q: Some buildings seem to be inaccessible even though I have enough money?
A: Certain buildings require getting to a specific Society level. Check your Society meter to see if you're Liberal or Authoritarian enough to access these special buildings.
Q: How do I turn off the sound?
A: At application lauch you will be asked if you want to play with sound on or off. While in the game you can always access the option menu to turn the sound on or off.
Q: How do I reset the game to default?
A: Highlight Reset Game in the Options menu and press select to reset options to default and delete saved and completed games.
